For the last 26 years, a local neighborhood church has shared a gift with the community that reaches thousands. Approximately 300 people from Simpsonwood United Methodist Church in Peachtree Corners, Georgia come together to stage a living nativity called “Walk Through Bethlehem.” The annual event, held the second weekend of December, is held in Gwinnett County’s Simpsonwood Park and draws crowds of close to 4,000 visitors. The family-friendly event is free with a donation of canned food or monetary donation to the Norcross Cooperative Ministry, collected at the entrance. Through the years, over $41,000.00 and more than 300 barrels of food has been donated to the ministry to support neighbors in need. Since the event’s beginning, over 56,000 people have visited Bethlehem.
