Easy Ways to Celebrate April With Kids

  • Pick one holiday each week and do something simple with it, like grilled cheese for dinner, an art project, or a family picnic.

APRIL 1-9: PASSOVER

Passover

If you are not Jewish, you may not know the story behind this festival. Passover is the festival of freedom and celebrates God's miraculous freeing of the Jewish people from over 100 years of slavery in Egypt and their Exodus to Israel.  The rituals passed down through each generation include reading the Haggadah which tells the story, asking traditional questions, singing ancient songs and eating the main Passover meal called a Seder. Like most other holidays, the Passover Seder contains traditional foods and family favorites.
