FREE: WALK THROUGH BETHLEHEM IN PEACHTREE CORNERS, GA

December 3, 2023

This weekend, visit the streets of Bethlehem – re-enacted as it was as a small village for Jesus’ birth. Your children will be mesmerized by the gold, frankincense and Myrrh – particularly as it sparkles in the flames.  They will get up close with camels, sheep, donkeys and cows, as they imagine the grueling trip that Mary took on the back of a donkey.  They will get to hear stories around the campfire, see the money changers in action, look into the King David Inn and join the Wiremen as they follow the star to the manger to honor the baby Jesus. There is a bakery, fur shop – and the favorite grape stompers.

Since 1991, Simpsonwood United Methodist Church has brought “Bethlehem” to Peachtree Corners, GA so that others can experience the majesty of the Biblical story.  As Simpsonwood celebrates its 40th anniversary and its place in Peachtree Corners history, we are delighted and gratified to present this Christmas mission to the community, now in its 31st year.

Approximately 300 people from Simpsonwood United Methodist Church in Peachtree Corners, Georgia come together to stage a living nativity called “Walk Through Bethlehem.” The annual event, held the second weekend of December, draws crowds of close to 5,000 visitors. The family-friendly event is FREE with a donation of canned food or monetary donation to the Norcross Cooperative Ministry, collected at the entrance. Through the years, over $41,000.00 and more than 300 barrels of food has been donated to the ministry to support neighbors in need. Since the event’s beginning, over 56,000 people have visited Bethlehem.

Plan an outing with your extended family.  We’ll have the luminaries lit and the hot chocolate ready. Please pass the word and join us for one of these nights in December.
