HARRY POTTER™: THE EXHIBITION IS PURE MAGIC!!

Now Open in Atlanta

Harry Potter™: The Exhibition, presented by Warner Bros. Discovery Global Themed Entertainment in partnership with Imagine Exhibitions, Inc., and EMC Presents is now open. This the most comprehensive touring exhibition ever presented about the Wizarding World.

Located in Downtown Atlanta, this immersive exhibition celebrates the stories and moments from Harry Potter, Fantastic Beasts, and the expanded Wizarding World, including Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, through beautifully crafted environments that honor the most memorable moments, characters, settings, and beasts in the films. For the first time ever you can see items from each film in one location and enter this magical world though an experience like no other.

Johnny and I were thrilled to be among the first people in Atlanta to visit the dramatic displays inspired by the Hogwarts film sets and and see the amazing craftsmanship behind authentic costumes and hundreds of props from the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts films. By using our RFID wristbands, we had unique experiences while exploring the wonderful environments using technology never before experienced in a touring exhibition.

“I am thrilled to open the doors and welcome people to the exhibition!” said Tom Zaller, President and CEO of Imagine Exhibitions. “It’s exciting for us to offer the experience for fans here in Atlanta – my hometown and the headquarters of Imagine. The exhibition travels from Philadelphia where it was presented as the world premiere and was enthusiastically received by more than half a million people. Our entire Imagine team, working in close collaboration with Warner Bros. and EMC Presents, have worked to build on the successes. We’re all extremely proud to bring this experience to Atlanta.”

From the moment you enter Harry Potter: The Exhibition, magic is in the air. The first thing you see is a first edition of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone encased in a Gringotts-inspired vault and  surrounded by inspirational video and literary quotes, reconnecting you to the story as you are introduced to the exhibition.

But, this exhibit is not merely something to walk by and look at. (Although even if it were, the magnitude of items on display would still be amazing) It is an immersive experience, featuring wonderfully well-crafted replicas of the sets used in the films, effects that are nothing short of magical, like paintings in the first room that roll their eyes and talk to you, and interactive elements that truly immerse you in the world that J.K. Rowling so masterfully created.

In the The Great Hall, we sat at the table to celebrate seasonal moments such as Halloween and Christmas surrounded by the gorgeous architecture. You can't see it in the photo, but the ceiling is covered in candles magically floating in the air.

The Hogwarts Houses Gallery allowed us the opportunity to experience personalized moments in our chosen Hogwarts house. This gallery also allowed us to experience all of the Hogwarts houses in a celebratory hall featuring the familiar Sorting Hat while surrounded by beautifully designed stained glass windows featuring the crest of each house.

Hogwarts Classrooms, faithfully re-created from the films, are filled with a multitude of props, creatures, and costumes. We interacted with magical lessons and games through digital touchscreens to reveal behind-the-scenes secrets about classroom moments. We brewed potions in the Potions Classroom, predicted the future in Divination, used digital wands to defeat a boggart in Defense Against the Dark Arts and were shocked by hearing the Mandrakes scream as we repotted them in the Herbology Greenhouse!

The Forbidden Forest offered an interactive Patronus charm experience and uncovered iconic creatures, such as centaurs and Acromantula, hidden in the spooky forest. Inside Hagrid’s Hut Johnny loved smelling the smoke from the fire and sitting in Hagrid's huge chair!

Another of Johnny's favorite experiences was pretending  to chase the Snitch and play part of a game of Quidditch in real life.

Harry Potter™: The Exhibition is truly an experience that no Potter fan should miss. We had so much fun! This is just a small sampling of all we saw and experienced. This exhibit is much larger and much more detailed than I ever imagined. There are lots of explanatory plaques to read and many hidden experiences to be found. Be sure to allow at least one to two hours to really appreciate everything. This venue is perfect for Harry Potter fans of all ages who wish to feel like they’re not quite a Muggle anymore! We LOVED it and think your family will also!

Don't forget... Christmas is just around the corner! Delight the Potterheads of all ages on your list!

The onsite retail shop, which can be accessed directly from the street without going through the exhibition, offers a huge assortment of themed collections from the expanded Wizarding World.  Choose from products including apparel, hats, scarves, jewelry, and unique merchandise not available at any other Wizarding World experience. We scored beautiful Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw scarves as early presents to ourselves! Don't forget to include some Butterbeer, Chocolate Frogs or Every Flavor Jellybeans (including snot and vomit... ugh!) for their stockings!

After going through the exhibition, Johnny and I were hungry, so we popped in the Hogwart Café to grab sandwiches for lunch. They were delicious, but the desserts and drinks were the real treat! After deliberating for quite a while over all the enticing choices, I chose the "Cloak of Invisibility", a lemon drink with an eerie dry ice fog and Johnny chose the "Philosopher's Stone", a fruit drink with an edible Smoke Bubble. Both were very impressive! They offer signature desserts for each house. Johnny chose the Hufflepuff House Chocolate Mouse Cake topped with edible gold. Unfortunately, they were out of the Ravenclaw House Mango, Pop Rocks, Coconut Ruby Chocolate Bites, so I substituted the Brown Buttered Cake with a Brandied Cherry. Both were fantastic!

The Café at Harry Potter the Exhibition can also be accessed from the street without going through the exhibition. Serving a full menu of breakfast bites, salads, sandwiches, and Harry Potter themed desserts, non-alcoholic beverages and signature event cocktails, this is a very unique place to eat anytime you are in Atlanta.
