The Atlanta Lyric Theatre is excited to announce the upcoming show of The Addams Family opening on October 27th running through November 7th. After a 14 month hiatus and an epic return with The Drowsy Chaperone, we can’t wait to bring The Addams Family to Jennie T Anderson theatre next month!
The Addams Family, a comical feast that embraces the wackiness in every family, features an original story and it’s every father’s nightmare: Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family– a man her parents have never met. And if that wasn’t upsetting enough, Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before– keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents.

This weird and wonderful family comes to devilishly delightful life in THE ADDAMS FAMILY. This new musical comedy is created by Jersey Boys authors Marshall Brickman & Rice Elice, Drama Desk-winning composer/lyricist Andrew Lippa (The Wild Party), and is based on magnificently macabre characters created by Charles Addams.
Ricardo Aponte has worked on dozens of Lyric shows, as both choreographer and director. He has been a favorite in the Atlanta theatre scene for years, and we are so fortunate to have locked him in for this hysterical show! Paul Tate is no stranger to the Lyric. We always love having him in at the piano to sculp the musical tone of the show! Rounding out the artistic trio is Kari Twyman. Kari has performed with the Lyric many times, but this will be her first time choreographing a full Lyric show, and we can't wait to see her unique and energetic style come to life in THE ADDAMS FAMILY!

Our Saturday, October 30th shows will have a costume contest for patrons! We will be taking photos of all of the costumes to be posted on our social media for judging, the photo with the most likes will win a $100 Atlanta Lyric gift card. Please make sure costumes are within the guidelines of PG-13, and do not restrict the view of any other audience members during the show.
