START AN EASTER TRADITION WITH DIY RESURECTION EGGS

By Becky Samford, Publisher Duluth, Norcross, Suwanee, Johns Creek & Peachtree Corners Macaroni Kid March 29, 2021

In the Christian religion, Easter is the holiest day of the year. We celebrate because on this day, when Jesus rose from the dead, he ransomed mankind from death and provided a way to be reconciled with God and have eternal life.

One of my family's favorite traditions is retelling the Easter story with a set of Resurrection Eggs. We do this during our Easter Brunch with each family member taking turns opening an egg and reading the corresponding scripture. Resurrection Eggs help bridge all the exciting secular fun of egg hunts, bunnies and candy with the real meaning of Easter and are a reminder to Christians of why we celebrate on this day.

There are many places you can purchase a set such as a local Christian book store or Amazon. However, it is easy to make a DIY set with your kids. And when kids make their own, you invite them to think more intentionally about what each egg represents in the Easter story.

Number 12 plastic Easter eggs and place them in order in an egg carton. Download a FREE Resurrection Eggs script HERE.
