SUGARLOAF BALLET GIVES A FREE CHRISTMAS PRESENT TO THE WHOLE COMMUNITY

Your Family is invited to a FREE Performance of their Inspiring Nativity Ballet

November 27, 2022

Join the Sugarloaf Youth Ballet at their annual Christmas celebration at Gas South Performing Arts Center on Friday, December 2nd at 7:30pm and Saturday, December 3rd at 2:00pm.

This holiday performance is FREE of charge and is a gift from our dancers back to the community. A Sugarloaf Christmas begins with new works performed by local professional dancers and is followed by a presentation of The Nativity Ballet. This short and energetic production features a cast of 60 dancers, including Shepherds, Drummers, Angels, Mary and Joseph and Wisemen. Audiences are taken on the journey from the angel's foreshadowing of Jesus' birth through the jubilee of his arrival. In addition to beautiful costumes, the set includes a manger protecting the swaddling infant and animals overlooking the arrival of visiting angels and traveling wise men.

Nativity Ballet started in 2006 with Mary, Joseph, and a few angels during Sugarloaf Ballet’s The Little Match Girl production. The fifteen-minute excerpt allowed Lori Zamzow-Wire to share her Christian faith with the audience in a unique way. The inspiration for Nativity Ballet came to Lori through her childhood experiences and watching companies such as Ballet Magnificat! and Ad Deum Dance Company. “I’ve been blessed to dance in Christmas musicals for every church my family attended since the age of 10. I grew up in dance ministry,” says Lori Zamzow-Wire.

Nativity Ballet is an uplifting celebration of the birth of Christ. Audiences will share in the truth of the season and be inspired to spread the Good News of Jesus’ birth. Nativity Ballet culminates with all of the dancers in an energetic demonstration that is sure to leave audience members excited about the real reason for the season.

I might be missing it, but are there tickets and if so, how much are they?

Nativity Ballet is a gift to the community. Because of a generous gift from one of our supporters in the community Sugarloaf Ballet is able to make these performances free and open to the public. Zamzow-Wire says, “This production is our way of giving back to the community. We want everyone to have the opportunity to experience the joy of Christmas.”
