Ringing in the New Year with Party Poppers

Macaroni Made

By Michelle Melnik; Macaroni Kid Deerfield/Greenfield December 30, 2012

Our New Year's Party Poppers are so easy to make and use very few materials.  We used a toilet paper roll, leftover wrapping paper, ribbon, and the beaded necklace that you see below.  You could also use marbles, coins, pasta, or pretty much anything that makes a fun noise without a big mess.  If you have any of these beaded necklaces, I highly recommend using them.  They make the perfect sound!!

We put the necklace, as is, inside the toilet paper roll.  We wrapped the toilet paper roll with green sparkly wrapping paper and used a small piece of tape to hold it in place.  Lastly, we tied the ends with silver ribbon.  We left the ends of the wrapping paper long because scrunching it or tapping lightly on the ends was another musical sound.

Enjoy ringing in the new year with some beautiful handmade music!
