CHRISTMAS TRADITIONS THAT MAKE LIFETIME MEMORIES

Christmas Ornaments to make with your children

December 10, 2022

One of my favorite family traditions was making ornaments with the kids each year. My children are all grown up now and I miss that chaos. But I still have a special tree just for their ornaments. As I place each one, the memories come flooding back... Rebekah covered in paint and glitter, Amanda with hot glue stuck in her hair, James so proud of the clothespin reindeer that he made even though the antlers were on the chin and the googly eyes were on it's rear!! Here are two cute ones to get you started:

Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer Ornaments!

These wooden peg reindeer make a sweet gift and look adorable on the Christmas tree or tied on a Christmas gift.

  • Wooden clothespins
  • Small wiggly eyes
  • Brown felt
  • Tacky craft glue
  • Craft ribbon (1/8 inch)
  • Miniature jingle bells
  • Scissors

. Done! Now it's time to sing Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer and hang him on the tree!

DIY Christmas Gnome Ornaments

Have you hopped aboard the gnome trend yet? Well, now's your chance! These simple — and super adorable — gnome ornaments are festive, fun, and really easy to make.

What You Need:

  • Pine cones
  • Small wood circles
  • Mini Santa hats
  • Hot glue gun and glue
  • Embroidery thread and needle
  • Embellishments (optional)

What You Do:

1. Peel back a few of the top pinecone layers to make room for the hat.
2. Use hot glue to attach the wooden ball, mini Santa hat, and embellishments.
3. Sew a thread through the back of the hat, form into a loop, and tie a knot.
4. Display your holiday gnomes on your Christmas tree.
