Art & Beyond Arts & Crafts Camp
At Art & Beyond Art and Crafts Camps, your child will explore their imagination through various art media designed to improve their art related skills. Campers will create a variety of artworks relating to a weekly theme using various medias including drawing, painting, mixed media, 3D and more.  Each Friday will culminate in a camper mini art show highlighting the art created that week at camp. All supplies and Camp T-Shirt included.

Camp Descriptions for Ages 6-10:

Cruise Ship

This week we’ll travel through the Caribbean and paint seascapes, design cruise ships and sculpt sea creatures from clay. We might even practice our surfing skills with wave prints inspired by Hokusai. 

Cartoons & Comics
June 1-5 AM

Jump into a week filled with your favorite cartoons from SpongeBob to Ninja Turtles. Design your own characters for your own comic book, learn to draw Japanese anime and manga, sculpt your own superhero from your favorite comic and even create your own joke book.

Express Yourself!

Get to know your inner artist where the focus is all about YOU! Paint, draw, collage and build all of your favorite things.

Treasure Island

Ahoy! Pirates, mermaids and creatures of the deep! Explore the world of hidden treasures, mystical sea creatures and mysterious new lands. Paint seascapes, draw Pirate flags and sculpt treasure chests. 

Dragons & Fairies & Castles

Enter an enchanted kingdom filled with castles, knights, fairies, and fun. Create a knight shield or fairy wand, draw mythical creatures big and small, make a fire breathing dragon mobile or sculpt a castle out of clay. 

Wild Wild West

This week we’ll travel back in time to the old west. Make your own sheriffs badge, paint a desert landscape, learn to draw a wild mustang, sculpt your own armadillo, create a Navajo weaving, or make a clay pot inspired by the Pueblo Indians. 

Food Fun!
June 22-26

Nom Nom Nom! We’ll have fun using food to make art. Learn to marble paper with food colors, stamp pictures using potatoes, apples and celery, make a self-portrait with vegetables, create a mosaic with beans, paint popsicles, and print pictures with real fish! 

Mask Mania!
June 29-July 3 AM

Create an array of masks that will transform you into new creatures and characters. Each day you will visit a new place and explore the mask-making traditions of the culture. We’ll explore the masks of Japanese theater, death masks in Egypt like King Tut wore, and even travel to the ancient Mayan civilization for inspiration. You’ll leave with a collection of masks made from paper-mache, clay, found objectism, and more.

The Great Outdoors

Let nature be your inspiration as you paint landscapes and seascapes, build big bug, sculpt animals out of clay, and even make your own paper. Inspired by the great outdoors learn how artists use natural materials to create artwork.

We will travel to a new country or continent each day and explore the culture, food, and animals of each place. You might make a clay kangaroo while visiting Australia or create a giant paper dragon while stopping over in China on an art-filled journey around the world!

Into the Zoo

This week we’ll practice roaring like lions and waddling like penguins as we explore animals you might find at the zoo. Maybe you’ll paint a giant hippo, collage a chameleon, make a zebra mask, or sculpt a snake from the reptile house. 

Monster Mash

Let your imagination run wild this week as you create monsters of all shapes, sizes and colors. Make a scary monster mask, a funny monster out of clay, or paint a silly monster with eight eyes. 

Masters of Art

Examine the techniques of Michelangelo, DaVinci, Picasso and more as you create artworks in their style. Young artists might create a painting upside down just like Michelangleo did in the Sistine Chapel or make paintings using only blue paint inspired by Picasso’s Blue Period of art.

Space – The Final Frontier

This week we’ll travel deep into outer space for art inspiration. Design your own space station or rocket ship, paint yourself a space suit, sculpt a UFO, or make an alien out of clay.

This week we’ll explore the bright, bold colors and fun designs of Andy Warhol, Wayne Thiebaud and Roy Lichtenstein to name a few. Painting, printing, and sculpture are just a few of the ways we’ll learn about this awesome art period!

Camp Descriptions for Ages 11-14:
Enrichment experiences in the visual arts for older children & teens. Classes are taught by professional artists who design fun, challenging & educational projects. Campers will create a variety of artworks including drawings, mixed media, paintings, sculpture, printmaking and collage. 

Build Your Portfolio Workshop 
May 26-29

An intensive drawing and painting studio. Expand your creativity and work in-depth on improving your skills. Study master artists, their methods and techniques to create artworks to enhance your portfolio.

Comics
June 8-12

This week campers will explore the process of creating characters and comics, from initial idea to completed page. Learn pencil, ink, and color techniques to make your own comic page.

Mosaics
June 22-26

Learn basic tile cutting techniques, placement of tiles, gluing and grouting. We’ll use materials such as glass, tile, shells, beads, stone, wood, and more to create a variety of brilliant sculptures, plates, and photo frames.

Printmaking
July 6-10

We’ll create printing plates using stencils, monotypes, and reduction printing techniques to print on a variety of surfaces including hand-made paper, t-shirts, and more. This camp is sure to im-PRESS!

Sculpture
July 20-24

Learn the basic techniques of sculpture. Assemble paper, wood, plaster, metal, and found objects to create sculptures without limitations. Study master sculptors, their methods and techniques..

Street Art
August 3-7

Explore the underground world of street art culture while designing your own original artwork. Campers will experiment with various materials including spray paint and explore various methods such as stencil art and posters.
