CINDERELLA WEEK-END... MOVIE DEBUT, BALLET & FAIRYTALE FEAST!!

By Becky Samford, Duluth, Norcross, Johns Creek & Peachtree Corners Macaroni Kid Publisher March 1, 2015
March 13,14,& 15 should be named Cinderella Week-end! Disney's highly anticipated new Cinderella movie opens on Friday, March 13th at movie theaters everywhere!! But did you also know that Northeast Atlanta Ballet will be performing their spectacular Cinderella Ballet at the Gwinnett Center on all three days! "What could be more exciting", squealed little girls everywhere!

How about a three-course FAIRYTALE FONDUE FEAST WITH CINDERELLA herself before or after one of the shows?  On Saturday, March 14th and Sunday, March 15th, from noon- 4 p.m., all four Atlanta-area Melting Pot locations (including one at 3610 Satellite Blvd in Duluth) cordially invite you to bring your little prince or princess to enjoy a three-course Fairytale Fondue Feast!  This enchanting afternoon wouldn’t be complete without a visit from Cinderella herself! So, dress your best for photo opportunities with a real-life princess.

Last weekend, we celebrated Katie's birthday with a sneak preview of this fabulous fondue feast for Katie and 4 of her girlfriends. This was an extra special treat because none of the girls had ever had fondue before. They LOVED it! In fact, several of the girls said it was the best meal they had ever eaten!
Because there were seven of us including Katie's dad, John, we were seated in a private dining room which the girls immediately dubbed the "VIP Party Room". Since this was a preview, Cinderella couldn't join us, but our waiters, Drake and Anthony, were fabulous! They were so patient in explaining everything to the girls and made them each feel like a real princess!

CINDERELLA’S THREE-COURSE MENU began with PRINCE CHARMING’S CHEESE FONDUE. The choices were Classic Cheddar, Traditional Swiss, Spinach and Artichoke, Fiesta or Wisconsin Trio cheese. We chose to share the Traditional Swiss (my favorite) and Classic Cheddar (the girl's favorite). This creamy cheese fondue was served with delicious dark and light artisan bread cubes, cauliflower, cherry tomatoes and carrots for dipping.

Next we were served the FAIRY GODMOTHER’S ROYAL ENTRÉE of Filet Mignon, Shrimp, Teriyaki-Marinated Sirloin, Boneless Breast of Chicken and Salmon accompanied by 5 homemade dipping sauces and an array of fresh vegetables, including mushrooms, broccoli and potatoes. To the girl's delight, as Anthony passed out slotted "search and rescue spoons", Drake explained the "no man left behind" policy for wayward morsels that escape your fork. Because we had so many young cooks, our waiters suggested that we choose the Court Bouillon (beef broth) rather than the Bourguignonne (flavored oil) cooking style. The favorites were the steak and the shrimp, but everyone ate every bite!
We were all pretty full by this time and wondered if we really had room for dessert. But when they brought in our FAIRYTALE ENDING CHOCOLATE FONDUE, we suddenly had plenty of room!! We chose Pure Milk Chocolate, Turtle (caramel, chocolate & pecans)and S'Mores (marshmallow creme, chocolate & bits of graham crackers). These three luscious chocolate fondues were served with an amazing selection of pound cake, brownies, blondies, rice crispy cubes, bruleed and oreo coated marshmallows, strawberries, pineapple and banana slices. WOW!! They even thought to bring Katie a small plate of chocolate dipped strawberries with a candle to blow out for a birthday wish! Of course, everyone agreed that this fabulous dessert was the perfect ending to our magical experience at The Melting Pot!
