The holiday season is a very special time for the Fox Theatre. The beloved Atlanta landmark opened its doors on Christmas Day in 1929 to a sold out crowd. The first audiences were treated to a live performance from dancing girls, the original Steam Boat Willie Disney cartoon, the Mighty Mo organ and finally a movie, “Salute”.
To celebrate the holiday season, and feature the magnificent theatre organ, on Monday, Dec. 22 at 7:30 p.m. See other details below:
- Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
- Did we mention IT’S FREE?!
- Snow will be falling… on Peachtree Street
- The Christmas Carol Sing-A-Long is led the famous “Mighty Mo” organ, the largest working Mollër theatre organ in the world
- The Sing a long will be accompanied by Larry Douglas Embury
- Show is hosted by Wendell Scott from ATLANTA’S CW69
- Other performers will include Stephenson High School Choir Directed by Dr. Vada M. Coleman and Variety Stars of Tomorrow winner Hannah French!
- Guest Organist Ken Double
- Following the Sing-A-Long and performances, will be a showing of the holiday classic “Home Alone”, celebrating its 24th Anniversary
- Santa will also be in attendance and available for photos. Cheese!
- The Fox Theatre will also be accepting donations for Toys-for-Tots that evening
