If you have been a subscriber to this newsletter for any length of time, you already know that Treetop Quest, with their 6 treetop obstacle and zip-line courses, is one of my family’s favorite places to have fun.

What could be more exciting than the adrenaline rush you experience as you climb, jump, zip, and swing from tree to tree at heights up to 55 feet off the ground? Well, how about doing it without safety cables!! Crazy? Yes, crazy fun!  Dangerous? No, there is a massive 20,000 square foot safety net below you. It’s actually fun to fall into the net as it provides a feeling of weightlessness, like walking on the moon. Falling also helps to overcome a fear of heights so you can enjoy the rest of the course! Wondering where you can have this awesome experience? There’s only one place in the USA that offers this thrill. It’s the new adventure for the whole family, Spider Quest, at Treetop Quest!!

Spider Quest, is a harness-free treetop obstacle course with different paths through the activities for varying degrees of difficulty. There is no minimum age to participate, but children must be able to reach 4'5" flat-footed with their hand.  What do people like best about this one hour activity with  30 obstacle challenges, including rope swings, tight ropes, swinging logs, a trapeze zip line, a cable-guided skateboard, a rock wall, 2 tree-houses and a 40-foot high giant slide to the ground? “Everything!”  Although the obstacles are fun and accessible for kids, each one requires a different level of strength, balance and coordination making it an intense core work out for adults also. The course is not only physically challenging, but one must use imagination and problem solving skills to accomplish the obstacles, building confidence with each completed task.

Don't worry. Even though you will miss a ton of fun, you do not have to accompany your child on the course. It's well supervised and parents  can observe from the canopy bridge or from the trails on the ground.

INSIDER TIPS:

• Spider Quest is a separate activity from the main Treetop Quest courses. However, Spider Quest admission is discounted when purchased in addition to your Treetop Quest admission.
• Save time by printing and filling out your waivers in advance from their website. (forms are on right sidebar).
• Bring a pair of gloves if you have sensitive hands. If you forget, Treetop Quest might have an extra pair you can borrow.
• Visit the restroom before you start the course. Porter potties are on-site at Treetop Quest or use the restrooms inside the Gwinnett Environmental & Heritage Center.
• Bring water and drink a lot. This is a workout so be sure to stay hydrated.
• Snacks and beverages are available for purchase or you can pack your own and eat them inside the covered pavilion at Treetop Quest. 
• Wear comfortable, lightweight, loose fitting clothing and appropriate closed toe footwear.
• Use insect repellent. 
• Cellphones and cameras are allowed, however remember that it is a giant net and if you drop something it will fall below into the woods.
• Group discounts are available for churches, schools, home-schools, etc. Awesome Birthday parties are also available!
• Allow some time to explore the exhibits and fabulous trails at Gwinnett Environmental & Heritage Center.
