FREE ADMISSION to Atlanta's Kid Friendly Venues

Affordable ways to visit your favorite places

If you're on a supertight budget and love art and history, this is an opportunity to expose your kids to the cultural hub of Atlanta. These venues are must sees and offer free admission on various days of the month.

American Girl Store:
Free crafts and special events weekly. Check website for dates and times.

Atlanta History Center
All Bank of America/Merrill Lynch customers get free admission to the Atlanta History Center on the first weekend of each month.

Atlanta Monetary Museum
The museum features a display on the history of money; interactive, multimedia exhibits explaining the Federal Reserve's role in the economy; and a view of the bank's automated vault and cash processing areas. In addition, most group tours include a stop in the bank's boardroom.

The Booth Western Art Museum, FREE every first Thursday from 4pm-8pm.

Center for Puppetry Arts
The Center for Puppetry Arts!

  • Tour the museum for FREE if you live, or attend school in Fulton County, or are a Gov't employee on the First Saturday of every month, . Show proof of residency (GA Driver’s License or ID card), a student ID, or a Gov't employee ID card to get in free.    
  • From 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. on Thursdays, it’s FREE to ANYONE to tour the museum
  • Passport to Puppetry Library Loan Program: Check out this pass from your local library and in addition to four free museum admissions, you can attend a performance at the Center and/or participate in a Create-a-Puppet Workshop at a 25% discount, when space is available.

Georgia Aquarium
Happy Birthday! The Georgia Aquarium offers free admission on your birthday to anyone with a valid ID or birth certificate.

Georgia State Capitol Museum
Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm
Self-guided tours include a history of the building and lawmaking process, the public galleries of the House of Representatives and Senate and the Georgia Capitol Museum.

Governor's Mansion
Georgia's Governor invites you to tour the mansion and learn the true meaning of Southern hospitality. Public tours are conducted throughout the year on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays between 10:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.  It is recommended that you arrive before 11:00 to allow enough time to complete the tour before the Mansion closes at 11:30 a.m.

Gwinnett County Public Library:
Library customers can check out a one-week pass for free admission for a family of four to:
  • Hudgens Center for the Arts
  • Southeastern Railway Museum
  • The Wrens Nest Museum
  • Georgia State Parks & Historic Sites; Go Fish Education Center

 

High Museum of Art
On the first Saturday of evey month, Fulton County residents gain free admission to the High Museum of Art. Free admission is only available until 1pm.

The Children's Museum of Atlanta
Target sponsors free admission to the Museum on the second Tuesday of every month starting at 1pm.

Lowe's Build & Grow Workshops
On select Saturdays and Sundays every month, Lowe's offers free hands-on workshops for kids. Registration required.

Martin Luther King, Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change
The King Center is free and open 7 days a week. Visits inclue Dr. and Mrs. King's Crypt, The Eternal Flame, and tours of Dr. King's birth home (free but registration is required).

Michael C. Carlos Museum
Admission to the Carlos Museum is free from 1:00 p.m.-7:30 p.m. on the following Thursdays: March 21, and April 11

Home Depot Kids Workshops
The first Saturday every month, The Home Depot offers free workshops for do-it-yourselfers of all ages and experience levels. Recommended for ages 5-12. Registration required.

World of Coke
All Active Duty, Reserves and Retired members of the armed forces will receive complimentary admission to the World of Coke. Regular rate admission applies to family members and friends.

Zoo Atlanta
Adults with a valid library card from any branch at any participating library system throughout Georgia can access the Atlanta Family Zoo Pass. This gives your family free admission to the zoo and can only be accessed once per year, per household. Also, once a year around Labor Day, Zoo Atlanta hosts free entry for Fulton County residents.
