Energy Saving Sock Balls

To the rescue!

By Debby Perry, City of Pittsburgh Macaroni Kid July 29, 2013
I have run across a myriad of options for using Dryer Balls to cut your drying time in *half* or so they claim. I've never tried it because to be honest I was being cheap. I didn't want to spend money on them. And then I STUMBLED upon UP CYCLED Sock Balls!

Instead of buying beautiful wool dryer balls, or plastic as-seen-on-TV versions, and spending money.

You can open up that awesome drawer of mismatched socks that you have nightmares about and GO TO TOWN!

Simply knot the first sock and then continue to wrap socks around it. Do this over and over until you have a tight, strong sock ball. Throw 3 of them in the dryer during drier time and let them do an "energy saving dance."

These are supposed to cut drying time in half saving you energy.
They are not HARD on your clothing like the plastic versions.
They cost NOTHING to make unlike the slightly expensive, albeit much prettier felted wool versions.
They take the place of fabric softener sheets. Less garbage!

Unlike fabric softeners, there are no harsh chemicals, which some people are wary about or are even ALLERGIC TO.

These will beat up your clothes -- only to make them SOFT!

You CAN scent them with all-natural essential oils.

There's nothing about these that's wrong! We can't wait to test them out!
