Review: Clyde 'n Bonnie

America's most romantic gangsters outwit and outrun the law!

March 18, 2012

Clyde 'n Bonnie: A Folktale, the musical comedy now playing at the Aurora Theatre in Lawrenceville, is sure to be a smash hit! If you want a chance to see it, you had better get your tickets quickly before they sell out every performance.

It is a delightful comedy of errors by gun toting bank robbers and cops alike, with the J. Edgar Hoover thrown in to boot. It's fast moving and funny. They even rob the first row of the audience!  My favorite scene was the car chase, made unbelievably realistic by the very clever use of props. The dialogue is hysterical, the songs are witty and the conversion of Clyde's sister-in-law, Blanche, from a Bible-thumper to a gun slinger almost steals the show! But, the big finale dance number, complete with an FBI surprise, will have you rolling on the floor!

This is definitely one of my favorite plays. If you want a great date night event, this is it!! Your husband will love this show!
