Whether you will be in town or out of town, I hope everyone has a fun and safe 4th of July!! I'm leaving on Saturday morning for a week at the beach with my daughter (Hallelujah!!) so you are receiving this week's newsletter early and next week's might be late! I first met Lisa, Billy and their 15-year-old daughter, Emily, about a year ago through a mutual friend here in Atlanta area where they live. The first thing that struck me was how beautiful Lisa and Emily were, but the second thing was how "normal" this family is even though they are a very successful family band named Laughing Pizza. This is available at any branch of a participating Georgia public library (all of Gwinnett and Fulton County Libraries participate).  One pass is available for checkout at each participating branch and may be checked out once per year, per household. The Zoo Pass is good for a family of four. The pass is valid for general admission only.

Aurora Theatre returns for the sixth year for Lawrenceville’s Prelude to the 4th Concert with the musical adaptation of Big River: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. Wednesday, July 4 - All-American Celebration by ASO

Guest conductor David Abell, joined by Broadway vocalist and Tony Award winner Debbie Gravitte, will lead the Orchestra and U.S. Army Chorus in a program of patriotic sing-alongs and Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture. The 94th Airlift Wing Dobbins Base Honor Guard will also join the Orchestra at the beginning of the concert to Present The Colors. The evening will conclude with a post-concert finale featuring fireworks produced by Pyrotecnico.

Thursday, July 5 - Exploring Nature With Your Kids at Fernbank Science Center

Taught by veteran naturalist and ecologist Al Tate, ENWYC focuses on nature in and around the Atlanta area. The class is designed for parents and children to learn together about animals, plants and natural communities they find around their own home and neighborhood.
Bring your found “things”-- feathers, unknown plants, insects, wasp nests, snake skins, millipedes, leaves, unusual fruits, spiders, shells, or other unidentified objects to ENWYC. During each class, we start indoors with show-and-tell to give our children an opportunity to share their excitement with the class. The instructor will identify and comment on these items and then continue with a featured topic or activity.

The Ruckus dance. party. rock!
