From May 29th to August 29th, Tumble Tots Preschool in Peachtree Corners offers 14 weeks of Summer Camp for children ages 2 through 6. Camps are Mon Wed Fri or Tues Thurs from 9:30 to 1:30 each day. Fun weekly themes such as Creepy Crawly Bugs, At the Zoo, Under the Sea and the Circus, are coordinated with art, music, and stories plus an indoor playground and loving teachers. Click HERE for more information.

Do you ZORB? Zorbing is defined as the sport of rolling downhill in an orb, which is double-sectioned, with one ball inside the other and a shock absorbing layer of air between. But kids who have been to Camp All American know that by adding water  and 3 friends to the inside ball, the real definition is the most fun you can possiby have on the planet!! This is just one of the awesome experiences that kids ages 4 through 8th grade can have each day in Johns Creek at Camp All American. Click HERE for more information.

"To the Arctic" at Fernbank IMAX Theatre

An ice-bound adventure for the whole family!

Yesterday, my family was the guest of Fernbank Museum for the opening celebration of the new IMAX® film, To The Arctic. The making of this film was truly epic. The filmmaking team visited the Arctic seven times over a four year period, logging a total of 8 months on the ice and on the Artic Sea. This story of love, family and survival in the harshest place on Earth was fabulous!  The film shows how the life cycles of caribou, seals and polar bears are all connected and all dependant ...

Peter Pan at Center For Puppetry Arts

Every time I see my great nieces, Jetta and Katie, they ask when I will take them and my great nephew, Johnny, back to the Center for Puppetry Arts. This is absolutely their favorite place to go. So, they were overjoyed when I told them that we were going to see Peter Pan! In fact when Katie found out she would be seeing this show twice because of her school field trip, she was thrilled! She said she would love to go everyday, because it's so much fun!

Atlanta Opera presents Don Giovanni

It was my pleasure to be the guest of the Atlanta Opera last night for the preview show of Don Giovanni.  Widely regarded as the greatest opera ever composed, Don Giovanni is a brilliant combination of comedy and tragedy, telling of the devious schemes and hijinks of history’s most beguiling scoundrel, Don Juan.

I found the opera to be delightful. The plot was entertaining and easy to follow with equal parts drama and comedy. Don Giovanni certainly lives up to his reputation as a Lothario, but his servant, Leporello ...

Everyday is Earth Day, unless you live on Mars!

As a very young adult, I learned how to be conservative with energy out of necessity when I lived abroad in The United Kingdom. People dying from hypothermia, trying to save on the high cost of heating their homes was something I had never heard of before as a young California girl. They thought I was crazy for baking a potato in the oven and I thought they were completely insane to hang their wash in the cold, cloudy and rainy weather. The weather was cloudy 90% of the year ...

April - Donate Life Month

April is Donate Life Month. A"sister" Macaroni Kid Publisher wrote the following article that I would like to share with you:

Although this has been the case for nine years now, I became acutely aware of it in 2009.  Three years ago this month, my daughter was in the hospital, diagnosed with Dilated Cardiomyopathy - an enlarged heart.  We went to the hospital thinking it was RSV, a virus that often strikes at preemies (my daughter was 7.5 weeks premature).  After a week of watching her struggle to breathe ...
