The Circus was FANTASTIC!!


Last Thursday night, my family was the guest of Feld Entertainment for Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey's newest show, Fully Charged, at Philips Arena. We had a terrific evening and loved the show!!

It all started with the Power Up Party, one hour before the circus started. We were down on the main floor to get an "up close" sample of what was to come. We got to pet some of the horses, meet the clowns and saw some amazing aerial acts. We also watched Anya the elephant paint ...

Thursday, February 23 through Saturday, February 25 - FREE performances of Oklahoma!

Oklahoma! is the first musical written by the team of Rodgers & Hammerstein. The musical is set in Oklahoma Territory in 1906 and tells the story of cowboy Curly McLain and his romance with farm girl Laurey Williams. The original Broadway production opened in 1943. It was a box-office smash and ran for an unprecedented 2,212 performances, later enjoying an Academy Award-winning 1955 film adaptation.

  Board the Birdwell Island ferry and take a journey to the world of Clifford, the big red dog. Based on the book by Calvin Alexander Ramsey, Ruth and the Green Book follows an African American family as they travel from Chicago to Alabama in the Jim Crow South of the 1950s. After being turned away from hotels, gas stations and restaurants, 8-year-old Ruth and her parents are introduced to "The Green Book," a pivotal publication conceived as a response to the humiliation and violence experienced by African Americans while travelling. Rabbit Tales is coming to Decatur High School!


Sunday, February 26th at 3 PM

The Atlanta Opera is pleased to present an encore presentation of our new family-friendly opera, Rabbit Tales!  Based on the Br’er Rabbit stories by Joel Chandler Harris, this production is a contemporary, light-hearted tale that combines several story lines from Native American, African and Cajun Folklore. Rabbit Tales is written and composed by Atlanta-based artists, and is sure to bring smiles to your faces!
