Eat Yourself Lucky on New Year's Day!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
Hoping to increase your luck and good fortune in the 2012? Then start by eating one of these foods on New Years Day! While I can't guarantee you'll have good luck or good fortune, at the very least, I can guarantee you will have a full belly!
Doughnuts- Many cultures believe that anything in the shape of a ring is good luck because it represents coming full circle. The Dutch often celebrate by eating doughnuts but a delicious Bundt cake will do too!
Beans- Legumes ...
Recycle Your Christmas Tree
The Christmas and New Year’s Eve holidays will soon be a memory. And once the Christmas tree comes down, you can give it new life by helping keep Gwinnett County beautiful.
Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful is asking residents to donate their trees to its annual "Bring One for the Chipper" tree recycling campaign. The trees will be turned into mulch to use in parks and other facilities throughout the county.
From Dec. 26 through Jan. 16, Gwinnett County residents can take their undecorated Christmas trees to one of several locations ...

LEAPIN LIZARDS!! America's most beloved musical returns to the Fox Theatre January 14 through 22!
Set in New York City during the depths of the Depression in December of 1933, ANNIE is the ultimate Cinderella story. It recounts the adventures of a little girl searching for her lost parents. Eleven year old Annie attempts an escape from the municipal orphanage and the alcoholic clutches of the hilariously mean and scheming Miss Hannigan, played by Sally Struthers.
During her many exploits, Annie befriends a stray dog named Sandy, and crosses ...

See "The New Adventures of the Gingerbread Man"
You may have heard the story about the gingerbread man who ran away from a little old woman and a little old man, a cow, a duck and finally met his untimely end with a sly fox. But have you heard about the gingerbread man who, after being visited by a magical blue fairy, learned how to be helpful towards his fellow fairytale characters and nearly became a real boy? In this fast paced retelling of a folktale favorite, David Stephens of All Hands Productions weaves together classic stories such ...
Family Fun Jar
Often our family wakes on a Saturday wondering “what do we do today?” Do we hop in the car with no destination in site? Do we go to a local park? Do we sit at home and do nothing? Our inspiration led us to create a FAMILY FUN JAR that we will implement this New Year. The concept is simple – we took a glass jar and wrote down 12 family friend activities; each month we will choose one activity to do – no matter what the activity is that will be ...

The Price of Children
The government recently calculated the cost of raising a child from birth to 18 and came up with $160,140 for a middle income family. Talk about sticker shock! That doesn't even touch college tuition. But, $160,140 isn't so bad if you break it down. It translates into:
· $8,896.66 a year· $741.3 month or * $171.08 a week.
· That's a mere $24.24 a day!
· Just over a dollar an hour.
Still, you might think the best financial advice is don't have ...
