Sometimes Thanksgiving arts and crafts can get a little BO-RING. I have a craft for you that's a total hit! We've been doing these since I began teaching in 1998. They are now a family tradition in my house!

Experience a dazzling extravaganza featuring nearly 1 million lights crafted into displays inspired by nature. Highlights include a galaxy of stars in the woodlands; whimsical bees, butterflies & other lighted pollinators in the Edible Garden; and 200 show-stopping, color-changing topiary forms choreographed to holiday music on the Great Lawn. For well over 50 years, Atlantans have started their holiday traditions by riding the Macy’s Pink Pig.  This year, kids of all ages are invited to ride the Macy’s Pink Pig train atop Lenox Square Mall. Atlanta’s most unique and beloved holiday tradition rides again beneath the signature 170-foot, 1950’s themed Pink Pig Tent.  Ride Priscilla the Pink Pig on train tracks through a life-sized storybook featuring Priscilla and her friends.

Sunday, November 20 - An Elf's Story at the Fox

Join Santa and his Elves with the 23-minute world premiere of the 2011 Christmas animated spectacular, An Elf's Story, based on the best-selling Christmas book and character The Elf on the Shelf.   In the spirit of Christmas, a Candy Cane carpet will be rolled out, with 100% of the net proceeds of the event benefiting Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. The doors to the winter wonderland will open at 2:30pm, where children can play in Santa’s workshop, indulge at the hot cocoa station, decorate delicious Christmas cookies, design their own keepsake ornament, write letters to their family’s elf and take pictures with the mascot elves until the 4:30pm screening of the movie.

(Through December 31, 2011) The Gwinnett Environmental & Heritage Center (GEHC) is proud to announce a brand-new traveling exhibit called Living in Space that is inspired by the International Space Station (ISS) – the single largest international aerospace project ever undertaken by humankind. This partnership of 16 countries has opened up new frontiers of international cooperation, as well as the peaceful and productive pursuit of new worlds. The space station is the most powerful spacecraft ever built in orbit and is permanently crewed and operated 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

THIS SHOW ENDS ON DEC 31.This is not your average puppet show. It's much more like a 3-D movie - and it's not to be missed! After a fully sold-out first run, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer™ is soaring back into town this holiday season. For families raising children with special needs, Land-O-Lakes is pleased to sponsor a private screening of The Muppets.

How: Drop in, but seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Saturday, December 3 - ASO- Gospel Christmas

“Sing out your glory, glory,” or simply bask in the spiritual glow of this annual celebration of life. The dynamic Chelsea Tipton II conducts a raise-the-roof program of traditional and contemporary gospel, with the Orchestra’s acclaimed Gospel Choir, comprised of singers from leading churches across Atlanta. Directing the choir is Jarvis Wilson, who trained under the late Mrs. Alberta Williams King at Ebenezer Baptist Church and is currently the Minister of Music at Israel Missionary Baptist Church in Atlanta. Adding extra luster to this year’s event is a special appearance by Grammy Award-winning songwriter and “Atlanta Housewife,” Kandi Burruss.
